Why didn't Maya see white people as people?
When Maya Angelou was younger twice a year she went into another town to get some liver. Her town was full of mostly black people and the town she went into was mostly white people. When she went into the other town she would think of the whites as nonhumans because they didn't have her same skin color. She didn't see a lot of white people in her town but she does see the KKK. So this is most likely another reason of why she thought of them as nonhumans. Normally black people were nonhumans but Maya was an exception and saw white people as nonhumans. Now she sees everyone as equals and loves everybody.
